  17. 1. WHAT IS 007 FOR WIN32?
  18. -------------------------
  19. 007 for Win32 is an innovative software which allows you to 
  20. password protect existing Win32 executables. You can effectively 
  21. lock your most sensitive programs and utilities (like tax 
  22. preparation or financial planning software) from unauthorized 
  23. access. Only the person who knows protection password can run the 
  24. program.

  26. 007 for Win32 is safe and efficient. Unlike other "protection"
  27. software, it does not run in the background to provide its
  28. functionality. With the other software, which claims to be
  29. "password protecting", an intruder can simply kill the protection 
  30. program or remove it from startup group to disable entire mechanism.

  32. 007 for Win32 protects program itself, not its icon. The program 
  33. will remain locked even if you run it from plain command line.

  35. Passwords can be set, changed, and removed separately for each 
  36. program. 007 for Win32 modifies existing .EXE file, so that the 
  37. program, if invoked, first asks the user for a password and would 
  38. not start unless the correct password is entered.

  40. 007 for Win32 runs on both Windows'95 and Windows/NT. It operates 
  41. regardless of installed file system type (NTFS, FAT-32, FAT, 
  42. etc.). The software doesn't modify Windows Registry or any other 
  43. part of the operating system. Neither does it create any hidden 
  44. files or disk sectors - it only modifies the executable itself, 
  45. saving the original file under a different name for your safety.

  48. 2. HOW TO INSTALL AND RUN THE SOFTWARE?

  59. To install the software, you must be running Windows'95 or 
  60. Windows/NT and have about 300KB of free disk space. To start the 
  61. installation please run SETUP.EXE. It will ask you for destination 
  62. drive and directory, and then will transfer necessary files to 
  63. your hard drive and create program shortcut or Program Manager 
  64. group complete with icons. To run the software just double click 
  65. on "007 for Win32" icon.

  68. 3. WHAT IS THE SHAREWARE EVALUATION COPY?

  70. 007 for Win32 is neither free nor public domain software. It 
  71. copyrighted software, which is distributed as SHAREWARE, i.e. 
  72. using true "try before you buy" method.

  74. This version of 007 for Win32 is intended for evaluation purposes 
  75. only. It is fully functional program with no time limiting. You 
  76. may use it freely and without any obligations for 30 days. 
  77. Thereafter, if you like the software and wish to continue using 
  78. it, you must pay for it.

  81. Protection" button, which is displayed randomly in shareware 
  82. edition. In registered version pressing ALT+B to bypass password 
  83. protection has NO effect.
